“I was inspired by the first woman who took flight to make a difference. From a young age she was already defying traditional gender roles and later on has set records in the air, while aiming to be the first woman to fly around the world. Until she went missing in flight.

Blue has always resembled intelligence and responsibility, then as the tone gets darker it evolves to depth and power. Amelia Earhart is a prime example of this. This garment shows the boldness of the muse, resembling a two piece flight suit inspired by what she wore. Travelling miles around the world.

Dedicated to my mother, the most influential woman I know, this garment also draws inspiration from my dream as a kid of being a pilot and my appreciation for vintage flight jackets. I have also put in a hint of my obsession with Japanese fashion and the goal to work alongside the likes of Visvim, Sasquatch Fabrix, Bode and many others. I would then come back one day to Aotearoa and bring back what I have learnt to start my own house. I want to learn something from the past and pass something onto the future.“
