How to build a storage box

Step 1Step one
Measure, mark and cut the MDF to the dimensions listed above.
Step 2Step two
Smooth any rough edges with sandpaper.
Step 3Step three
Attach the MDF pieces together to form a box, fixing at each edge with PVA glue and screws (drill pilot holes first).
Step 4Step four
Wipe off any excess glue with a clean cloth and allow glue to dry. Lightly sand the box.
Step 5Step five
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the box and allow two hours to dry.
Step 6Step six
Apply two coats of Resene Reservoir to the box, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 7Step seven
Mask off an angled rectangle, as shown, using low tack masking tape.
Step 8Step eight
Apply two coats of Resene Billabong to the masked area. Allow two hours for the first coat to dry and then apply a second coat, carefully peeling off the masking tape before this coat dries. Allow to dry for two hours.
