From the Resene Total Colour Awards gallery of entries
This community funded Gore Kids Hub has three different groups in the one building – Playcentre, a toy library and a parent centre. It is also home to many meeting rooms and is well used for all sorts of community events.
Resene Sonyx 101 semi-gloss waterborne paint in Resene Bright Red, Resene Tree Frog, Resene Tory Blue and Resene Turbo are bright and colourful on the exterior with a large deck finished in Resene Woodsman Decking Stain in Resene Natural leading out to a big playground. Soffits are finished in Resene Sandstone Grey.
As well as being bold, bright and beloved, this building can also boast that it won the Best New Commercial Exterior Paint at the New Zealand Master Painters Awards.
Inside the palette is more neutral with Resene Zylone Sheen in Resene Silver Chalice on walls, Resene Black White on ceilings and 1 metre high ply walls finished in Resene Qristal Clear polyurethane. This simple yet classic colour palette lets the children’s artwork and pictures be the hero on the walls. Resene Qristal Clear polyurethane with a slight tint added to all lower walls is designed to withstand the high wear and tear from the children and give the plywood more life.
