Resene FX Pearl Shimmer Resene Pearl Shimmer is a waterborne pearlescent glaze ideal for creating shimmering wall finishes and softly sparkled features to add visual interest and diversity to any colour scheme. Resene Pearl Shimmer is always used in conjunction with a basecoat tinted to a selected colour. The choice of basecoat will depend on whether it is an interior or exterior application. Resene Pearl Shimmer may be applied over a wide variety of substrates, including trim and joinery, offering the user an almost infinite selection of colours. The most accentuated pearlescent effect will be achieved in combination with a textured basecoat, a well-planned lighting scheme and/or a curved surface. As the final appearance will vary depending on the basecoat colour and method of application, always test and confirm a sample panel before completing the full project. Resene High Temp Black Enamel Resene High Temp Black Enamel is a flat, high heat coating formulated using heat resistant pigments in a silicone polymer resin that provides excellent colour retention and film integrity at working temperatures up to 538°C. This coating is designed for use on both ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces and is ideal to coat areas of wood stoves, flues, heaters, barbecues and other metal surfaces that are exposed to high temperatures. Do not use in areas with direct flame exposure. Resene High Temp Black Enamel gives good rust resistance when fully cured. Resene Room Velvet Resene Room Velvet dries to a beautiful, even, silky low sheen finish. Based on a tough flexible hybrid waterborne-alkyd resin to give fast drying and durability in all hardwearing areas. This lower odour formulation is easy to apply and dries without the unwanted and strong solvent odours associated with traditional solventborne products. Typical uses: Walls and ceilings especially in wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundries, architraves, plywood, skirtings, wallboards. Resene SpaceCote Flat Fly Deterrent Resene SpaceCote Flat Fly Deterrent brings style toughness to broadwall areas, allowing you to get a desirable flat finish without sacrificing durability. It is designed to discourage flies from sitting on areas painted with this product minimising the appearance of fly spots and keeping the paint finish looking its best for longer. Extensive testing by an accredited laboratory has shown significant reductions in the number and size of fly spots compared to standard paint systems. Musca domestica, the housefly, is a well known cosmopolitan pest responsible for transporting disease carrying organisms and damaging surfaces. When resting, adults regurgitate a liquid that results in spots on the surface combined with other darker spots, both of which can be difficult to remove without damaging the paint surface. The flies are inactive at night and tend to congregate on ceiling areas. The less flies sit, the fewer and smaller the fly spotting. Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen is the result of long, careful, intensive research. Resene Aluminium Wood Primer Resene Aluminium Wood Primer is a lead and extender free primer based on mixed oil and oil-modified alkyds. Its sole pigmentation is aluminium flake. Typical uses: Resene Aluminium Wood Primer may be used in any area in which conventional wood primers are used. Typically, however, it is used in more difficult areas where surface preparation cannot be of a high standard; knots exist in the timber; or staining is a major problem. While it is not offered as a cure-all, its performance in these areas is often much better than conventional primers. |

Resene AquaLAQ Quick Dry Sealer Resene AquaLAQ Quick Dry Sealer is a unique waterborne sealer designed to seal off grain raising in MDF to provide a sound, flat, and high quality substrate ready to be topcoated. With minimal sanding required, you can enjoy lower labour costs. Enjoy low odour and low VOC with this product. The clear sealer may also be used on timber and timber/paper veneers, which would normally be susceptible to moisture, to highlight their warmth and grain while providing a sealed substrate suitable for topcoating. Resene Waterborne Sureseal - pigmented sealer Resene Waterborne Sureseal is a pigmented penetrating sealer designed to ready a wide range of interior surfaces ready for topcoating, including old varnishes and Lockwood® finishes. It has excellent adhesion, reduces bleeding of water stains, low VOCs and dries without the unwanted and strong solvent odours associated with traditional solventborne products. Suitable for use in broadwall areas through to wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens. Resene Waterborne Sureseal is a penetrating sealer and should not be regarded as forming part of the film build of the subsequent coating. Resene Colorwood Resene Colorwood is an exciting way of treating natural timbers and enhancing the grain. Gives coloured timbers with the see-through look as it allows the natural grain of all timbers to show through. All colours can be intermixed, allowing you to create your own colours – always keep a note of any intermix recipes so you can recreate them if you need more. The finished colour is influenced by the timber colour itself, the denseness of the timber and the length of time the stain is left before the excess is wiped off. Always test Resene Colorwood on a small off-cut of timber to ensure the desired colour is being achieved. Strong colours may be difficult to achieve on hardwood and heart timbers due to lack of penetration. If the selected colour is too strong, reduce with Resene Colorwood Reducing Base. Resene Colorwood is very easy to apply by brush or rag. For best results, wipe excess Resene Colorwood off with a dry, absorbent, lint free cloth, rubbing along the grain. This also ensures maximum adhesion of topcoats. Overcoating is recommended to ensure the timber is protected and to maximise the longevity of the finish. Resene Colorwood is easily overcoated with Resene Aquaclear, Resene Qristal ClearFloor 1K, Resene Qristal Polyurethanes or Resene Polythane. Typical uses: Canework, cork, doors, dressed and rough sawn timber, fibre and particle board, furniture, kitset and nursery furniture, panelling, rope, timber (imported and native), timber ceilings and beams, window and door frames. Resene Colorwood Enhance Resene Colorwood Enhance is designed to provide subtle toning shade to interior timbers. Resene Colorwood Enhance can be mixed into waterborne clear finishes, such as Resene Qristal ClearFloor 1K and Resene Aquaclear, and then brush applied as part of that product to enhance the timber substrate. It takes only one pack (80ml) of Resene Colorwood Enhance to shade a litre of clear finish. You choose the level of shading. Available in white, black, jarrah, red brown and walnut tones. Resene Danska Teak Oil Resene Danska Teak Oil is a highly 'refined' Linseed Oil product designed to bring out the grain of heart timbers such as Rimu and Teak and produces the most natural results when left uncoated. Resene Kwila Timber Stain Resene Kwila Timber Stain is designed for direct application to new and weathered timber decks and furniture to enhance and restore the timber colour and provide protection against water, fungi, and U.V. light. As a penetrating material, Resene Kwila Timber Stain will regenerate wood fibres exposed by U.V. and weather attack and re-build them into a wood-like material. New timber should be treated with Kwila Timber Stain before assembly, paying special attention to end grains and the underside of decks, as they will be difficult to coat after the deck has been assembled. Resene Kwila Timber Stain may be applied by brush, spray or roller. As with other wood stains, the finish will typically require maintenance after two summers. Performance is related to the depth of colour applied, therefore light applications and dressed surfaces may require maintenance sooner, while heavier applications and rough sawn surfaces will require less maintenance. Stains are transparent, therefore the final finish colour will depend on the nature of the timber being stained. Stains applied to light woods will appear much stronger and brighter in colour than stains applied to dark wood. As with any coloured paint or stain, always test Kwila Timber Stain on a representative piece of timber first to ensure it gives the desired result on the actual timber being coating. Typical uses: New and weathered timber, timber outdoor furniture, wooden decks. New timber should be treated with Resene Kwila Timber Stain before assembly, paying special attention to end grains and the underside of decks, as they will be difficult to coat after the deck has been assembled. |

Resene ProSelect timber flooring finish The Resene ProSelect professional timber flooring finish blending system. Includes a tough 2K low VOC waterborne polyurethane sealer and topcoat developed specifically for professional flooring contractors. It is designed to enhance and protect hardwood timber floors, while giving the contractor the ability to select the finish desired from a full or semi-gloss, all the way through to a natural or ultra matt. This gives the contractor freedom to select any finish they wish, with just the minimum of components. Extensive testing and site trials with professional flooring installers and coaters/finishers were carried out to ensure suitability and ease of use, while also reducing costs and wastage. Resene Qristal Clear Resene Qristal Clear is a range of hardwearing single pack polyurethanes. Designed using the most modern urethane resin for ease of application and maximum flow. Resene Poly-Flat produces a low sheen wax-like finish with excellent grain filling and sanding properties. Resene Poly-Satin produces a rich hardwearing semi-gloss finish with excellent sanding properties. Resene Poly-Gloss dries to an extremely hard high gloss finish (the wet look). Best applied over Resene Poly-Flat or Resene Poly-Satin. Where a harder wearing surface is required, substitute Resene HD Poly-Satin for Resene Poly-Satin, or the full gloss Resene Polythane for Resene Poly-Gloss. The Resene Qristal Clear range of Poly-Flat, Poly-Satin (excluding HD Poly-Satin) and Poly-Gloss moved to a lower odour formulation in 2018. Resene Timber and Furniture Gel Dripping wood stain and weathered outdoor wooden furniture are generally not the best combination with the applicator having to do battle with the difficulty of painting surfaces and cracks that run every which way without dripping the wood stain onto the deck below. To make the rejuvenating process quicker and easier, Resene Timber and Furniture Gel is a non-drip, easy to apply, waterborne gel-stain designed for use on a wide variety of new and weathered timber surfaces, including furniture. Resene Waterborne Woodsman Sick of faded stained weatherboards or drab timber finishes? Neither does justice to any home or project exterior and they can both easily be remedied by the application of Resene Waterborne Woodsman. Resene Waterborne Woodsman is an exterior wood stain designed to colour timber, while still allowing the natural grain of the timber to show through. It is an easy way to add colour to new or previously stained timber without losing its natural beauty. Designed for exterior timber in a wide range of colours. Decorators will enjoy the quick and easy water clean up and the absence of the solvent fumes and VOCs associated with traditional solventborne stains. Easy to apply with minimal surface preparation required. Formulated with powerful fungicides for improved mould resistance. Stains are transparent, so the final finish colour will depend on the nature of the timber being stained. Stains applied to light woods will appear much stronger and brighter in colour than stains applied to dark wood. As with any finishing project – regardless of the products being used – always go through the entire finishing process using scraps from the project before committing to the colour. Preferred colours can be easily tested on a representative piece of wood using Resene Waterborne Woodsman testpots. Resene does not recommend clear stains on exterior timber as they do not provide sufficient protection for the timber against the weather. If you'd like a clear style finish we recommend you choose a stain colour close to your natural timber stain colour to provide protection and a look in keeping with the original. Resene Waterborne Woodsman CoolColour™ Resene Waterborne Woodsman is a waterborne woodstain matching the needs of timber to the desire to achieve the most natural appearance possible. Resene CoolColour technology performs optimally on dark colours that are the most prone to heat build-up. Designed for exterior timber in a wide range of colours. Resene does not recommend clear stains on exterior timber as it does not provide sufficient protection for the timber against the weather. Easy to apply with minimal surface preparation required. Formulated with powerful fungicides for improved mould resistance. Like pigmented CoolColour hues, Resene Waterborne Woodsman CoolColour finishes retain their normal visible colour but reflect heat from the surface, reducing stress on the coating and substrate and subsequent heat related damage improving the longevity of each. The technology also minimises build up of unwanted heat in the building reducing airconditioning and cooling costs. In short, the colour looks the same as normal but reflects much more heat than normal so doesn't get as hot as the standard colour would. Those who remember the introduction of the then new Cricket NZ black shirts will remember discussions of the new technology that stopped the shirts absorbing the heat a black shirt normally would, a heat that would be unbearable for cricket players. Resene CoolColour paint technology works on a similar premise, but instead of protecting cricketer's backs Resene CoolColour technology protects houses and buildings instead. Resene CoolColour technology is generally best suited to colours that have black in their make-up as these tend to absorb the most heat. Resene FX Metallic (was known as Resene Enamacryl Metallic) If a finish a little out of the ordinary is called for, Resene FX Metallic and special effects are the ideal solution to add an extra dimension to a wide range of areas from exterior concrete and steelwork through to interior feature walls, doors, joinery and furniture. Resene has two metallic finishes: Resene FX Metallic is a waterborne metallic finish recommended for use over prepared concrete and plaster. Resene FX Metallic is the preferred product for interior work because of its Eco Choice approval and low VOCs. Resene Imperite I.F. 503 is a spray applied high performance coating. It is more durable than Resene FX Metallic in exterior situations and is preferred especially over new steelwork. Slight variations in colour may occur between Resene FX Metallic and Resene Imperite I.F. 503 due to their inherently different film forming properties. The metallics range is best applied by spray for a monolithic finish but may be brushed using a crows foot technique or rolled with good trade practice. Typical uses: Architraves, bathrooms, furniture, kitchens, laundries, plywood, skirtings, timber doors, wallboards, window frames. Resene Water Lockout Resene Water Lockout is a versatile high build liquid watertight membrane based on a urethane modified bitumen emulsion. It cures to a seamless highly elastic and durable film that adheres well to most substrates to block water ingress. It comes in black and isn't designed for painting over, so it's best used in non-aesthetic areas of a building, such as on exterior masonry walls, in situ concrete, plastered/rendered walls or on retaining walls and inside wooden planter boxes. Typical uses: Masonry – walls, in situ concrete - walls/floors, plastered/rendered walls, retaining walls, wood planter box interiors. |

Resene FX Crackle Creating unique broken, antique looking finishes is quick and easy with Resene FX Crackle. Distinctive crackle finishes can be created using a tinted acrylic basecoat (such as Resene Lumbersider), one coat of Resene FX Crackle and a final coat of an acrylic topcoat tinted to a contrasting colour to the basecoat. Resene FX Crackle will shrink causing the acrylic topcoat to crack revealing the basecoat colour. The Crackle effect will vary depending on the application method, enabling many different effects to be achieved with the same product, just by varying application technique and the basecoat and topcoat colour combinations. A thick coat of Resene FX Crackle will result in fewer larger, deeper cracks, while a thin coat will give smaller, shallower cracks. Crackle effect finishes are best used on uneven or rough walls, furniture, picture frames, woodwork and small feature areas. As with other effects products, agree a sample panel before the job starts and use this as the standard for the project. If you wish to overcoat a Resene FX Crackle finish with an acrylic paint you will need to apply Resene Sureseal to seal off the crackle layer before topcoating. Depending upon the depth of the crackle finish you may still see a pattern through the repainted area. Typical uses: Small areas where a crackle effect finish is required. Not recommended for large areas as it is difficult to get an even finish on a larger area. |

Flexible and produces an ideal surface for subsequent paint finishes. Excellent adhesion to timber and old paint (ideal for spot priming on repaint work).
