Kiwi colours by Resene feature on the NZ On Screen containers that have found a home in Auckland and Wellington showcasing an online treasure trove of television, film and music videos. As part of the Real New Zealand Festival, NZ On Screen is taking to the street in hi-tech containers and is on the move in their custom fitted caravan. Classic Kiwi screen moments will be shown on a video tower atop a modified shipping container. Inside, visitors will be able to engage with, and be moved by, the screen treasures via a state-of-the-art interactive video feature wall and viewing pods.

The containers are a showcase of kiwi creativity inside, which is also reflected by the creative kiwi colour palette chosen on the outside. Each colour has been chosen from the Resene colour palette for its kiwi connection. With Resene born in New Zealand in 1946 in a humble garage, we’re proud to bring you this collection of kiwi colours.

Creating the pixellated effect was painstaking work starting with a carefully marked out grid system, many many cans of paint and much care and patience ensuring the right colour ended up in just the right spot.

What is NZ On Screen?

In 2007 NZ On Air initiated the NZ On Screen project as an integral part of its digital strategy. Since 1989 NZ On Air has funded over 15,000 hours of local television production. Much of this content, as well as thousands more hours supported by broadcasters, film investors and other funding sources, is not easily accessible to the public. NZ On Screen is unlocking the treasure chest, providing access to the wealth of television, film and music video produced in NZ, along with knowledgeable background information.
