Airport Garden Inn

The Airport Garden Inn needed a makeover. Enhancing the main areas with bit of colour, new carpet tiles and ceramic tiles, furniture rearrangement and small touches such as reupholstering the existing sofa squabs and adding art gave the foyer an instant new lease on life. The bedrooms were given a sense of warmth and luxury by using beautiful bedding, soft lighting and art.

The theme and feel of the makeover Homebase wanted to create for this hotel was ‘Pacific Rim’ adding to the existing influence of the owners.

Bounty Inn, Paihia

With creating a scheme Homebase needed to reflect and express the local area, taking the many colour influences, while combining this with the laid back and relaxed way of life of the locals, to create a ‘Get away from it all’ type of place that is sought by the many visitors. The Design Solution was a Beach theme with a Cape Cod influence.

In the motel bedroom the wooden walls were painted white to lighten and brighten them. The reception was modernised and organised to be a welcoming first point of contact for guests, setting the warm and relaxed tone for their stay, through customer service and design.

Hicks Bay Motel

Turning up to Hicks Bay Motel was like walking into a rural retreat.

Located on the stunning East Coast, it really takes you back in time to a place with a much simpler life.

In coming up with a design scheme Homebase wanted to give it real Kiwi personality. This comes through with the serene natural colours, the Tui’s on the cushions, the kiwi anna tomato sauce bottles in the dining room and the use of quirky little pieces like the hanging jandals and Tiki’s in the reception. This gave the place a little bit of life, together with fun and interest while staying true to its roots.

To keep a consistent theme and to tone with the timber, Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Flax was used throughout the makeover.

The Lakefront Motor Lodge Thermal Spa, Taupo

When arriving at the Lakefront Motor Lodge Thermal Spa the interior design solution needed an injection of affordable luxury.

Using the beautiful natural alpine setting to influence design choice Homebase came up with a ‘leaf’ inspired scheme; reflected in the beautiful curtains, cushions and mirror art plus it inspired the choice of colours for walls, floors and other accessories.

Modern colours were used to paint the outside of the Spa building to show a snapshot of ‘what’s possible’. Colourful play equipment added to the garden by the pool will remind many of their summer family holidays and will inspire others to visit who want to provide the same experience for their children.
