With the right paint selection, your décor can be as inviting as the meals you serve. Resene can show you how.
Most of us take a lot of time to choose cabinetry, benchtops and appliances for our new kitchen, so it makes sense to take time to consider paint and colour options too. Low-maintenance, easy-clean surfaces will probably be a priority, which is where Resene can help. Recent new releases from the company include Resene Zylone SpaceCote, a low-sheen, low-odour, waterborne enamel, which is well suited to kitchens. This paint complements Resene's other waterborne enamels, Lustacryl and Enamacryl. Other products suitable for kitchen surfaces include acrylic and solventborne paints in a range of sheens.
Choosing colours for your kitchen will depend on several variables. While a crisp, uncluttered kitchen that features a lot of stainless steel may suit cool shades, more funky designs may be best offset by bright tones. You will also need to co-ordinate colours with the rest of your home's interior.
Resene has put together a number of paint collections that can take the hard work out of such decisions. Colour charts and fandecks make it easy to mix and match shades. The Range is a collection of 150 traditional and contemporary colours, including metallic and textured finishes. The range builds on previous collections and is based on international colour predictions, tailored to suit the New Zealand lifestyle and environment. The fandeck even suggests colours that work well together.
The Resene Metallic and Special Effects Chart presents another range of paints that meet the current demand for paint with a metallic look. The chart features 45 shimmering paint effects, which can be applied to form a seamless veneer on any type of building material, including MDF, steel and concrete.
To simplify paint selection, Resene has introduced a free tool on its website - Resene TechSpec. To find the right product for your project, simply select the type of surface you wish to paint, then answer questions regarding critical aspects of your project. Resene TechSpec will select the system that best meets your needs. Colour selection can also be simplified with Resene EzyPain virtual painting software. This gives you the opportunity to preview colour schemes on your computer. Simply choose a picture, click on specific areas, such as the ceiling, walls or cabinetry, then select the colour you would like to use for that area. Resene EzyPaint has a gallery of more than 100 images to choose from, but you can also scan in an image of your own project. The EzyPaint program includes Melteca and Panelyte laminate colours and patterns, allowing you to incorporate these into your plan. Resene EzyPain is free to download, or you can purchase or borrow a CD-Rom copy from your local Resene ColorShop.
All Resene paints are available from Resene ColorShops.
