Neutrals not

The Smiths built a new home, and planned to use a range of natural colours. They considered a monochrome neutral palette for about five minutes but decided it wasn't them so spent a lot of time looking at the use of each room and the mood they wanted to convey.

The open plan living area had three different functions and was painted accordingly using Resene Black White on doors, trims and various walls of Resene Hillary, Resene Rambler, Resene Quarter Gravel and Resene Inside Back. Resene Beatnik provides a pop of colour behind the stove. The high stud in each room allowed the use of colour on the ceilings as well. Resene Black White and Resene Inside Back followed through the hall and down to the master bedroom.

Their girls chose Resene Feijoa and Resene Raspberry respectively in their rooms, while Resene Lemon Twist is nice and bright in the south facing bedroom.

And to complete the paintwork, the exterior is finished in Resene Lemon Grass and Resene Foundry.
