Re-renovated

The Grant family home was built in the late 1920s and over the years has had many renovations, which has resulted in a house of many disjointed small rooms and a confusion of styles. So they decided to undertake another renovation to take the house back to the 1950/60s to a style reminiscent of the Palm Springs days of open plan rooms and large glass sliding doors.

The project started as a straightforward renovation, but escalated to the point that the house was nearly re-built from the floor upwards. The walls and ceiling have been insulated and with the installation of double glazing the result is a home that has all the modern comforts of the 21st century and the look of the 1960s.

Resene CoolColour™ Black was chosen to give the house a sharp crisp look, to complement the aluminum framing and the interior design and as an added bonus to also imitate the popular black creosote houses of the 1960s.
