Church hop

The Grieder family moved a church from Collingwood Street Nelson to their property in Wakefield and used it as an antique shop. They have since closed this down and are considering the best option for the church in the future, sifting through the endless possibilities of small functions, a gallery, boutique cinema and so on.

The church was built around the 1880s and will soon be enjoying leadlight windows (approximately 80 - 100 years old). Christine’s father bought them many years ago and she inherited them. The leadlights will be installed sitting between the double glazing, keeping them clean and safe. And to keep the church protected, it has been painted in Resene Tsunami and Resene Sea Fog.
