Twice painted

Michelle and Blair’s bedroom has had two rounds of redecorating to get it right. When they moved in five years ago the house was a technicolour nightmare. The master bedroom was a bile green trimmed with lilac.

The initial renovation included an additional window to let in more light and opening windows. They repainted the room with Resene Biscotti as Michelle wanted a neutral beige tone. However, on painting Blair commented it was ‘flippin’ pink'. Michelle said it would tone down once dried and accompanied by new brown curtains. However it didn’t and Blair regularly mentioned the ‘pink’ room.

Subsequently they had a wardrobe built into the room and decided to repaint with Resene Napa for the walls and Resene Half Napa for the wardrobe doors with Resene Lustacryl white on trim. Resene Napa looks fabulous against the brown drapes and gave Michelle the perfect excuse to buy her favourite duvet cover from Thread Design, which goes perfectly with the Resene Napa.

The room now has a very relaxing feel and although Michelle doesn’t get the chance to spend too much time in there apart from sleeping, when she does get a moment it is her quiet place with a fantastic view across their deck to their park like front lawn.
