The kitchen is located next to the lounge and naturally was next on the painting list as it didn't match. The kitchen is blue and the walls were originally yellow with blue architraves. She continued the lounge colours through to the kitchen, which made it feel instantly more modern. The passage had dark maroon wallpaper that just had to go. The architraves and front door were again painted in Resene Alabaster combined with walls covered in textured wallpaper that worked in well with the Resene Tea walls in the lounge. It was amazing how much this change in colour scheme opened up the passage.
Next was the bathroom, which received a coat of paint in the same colours and new tiles above the vanity.
Finally Joanne tackled the master bedroom using the same colours for continuous flow. The side tables and vase were painted in Resene Wood Bark to match and the curtains and nets were replaced with wooden blinds.
Joanne also creates a variety of artworks scattered through the house. She has used Resene colours in many a painting, including Resene Nero as the backdrop to the painting in the kitchen. There are only two bedrooms in the house left to be revamped and then the inside will be complete. The plan is to rent out this house once their new home has been built and with the modern new look they're sure the new tenants will like the new look too.
