The Robertson home features two bedrooms that children would love to have.

15 year old Dalyn's room is finished in Resene Chaos teamed with a checker effect of black and white. Many hours were spent masking the ceiling to get the checks exactly right. Melanie then decided to continue with the theme by padding and covering the bed headboard and base in vinyl checkers. When they bought the house it had neutral colours throughout so the fire engine red was a huge difference. The handprint painting was done by Dalyn and a friend and includes a variety of Resene colours also.

12 year old Finlay's room is finished in Resene Cranberry with black and white. In their last house they painted Finlay's bedroom eight times in as many years before deciding on Resene Cranberry one week before they decided to put that house on the market. After choosing colours that were not quite right so many times and then finally getting it right with a colour they all loved, Finlay was extremely disappointed at the prospect of leaving it behind. So a deal was made - they were allowed to sell the house on the condition that in the new house her new room would be painted the same colour fairly smartly. So they moved and following the remodelling of two rooms into one and creating a walk-in wardrobe/dressing area Finlay's room was painted. And after many hours of work Melanie has just completed the feature daisy chain.
