Lavender room
The Budd family's 100 year old villa served as a tearooms and shop where they served lavender scones on antique cake stands and sold a range of their handmade culinary products. It was a popular destination for tourists and locals, but due to their location 1km from State Highway 2 and ongoing roadworks, it was time to reinvent the location with a renovation and relaunch as a Bed and Breakfast.

They decided to theme the rooms on a botanical nature as the home is adjacent to a charming herb garden. Resene paints are used throughout, but the piece de resistance is the aptly named 'Lavender room' where the bold colour of Resene Cherry Pie zings against the neutral Resene Rice Cake. Curtains and carpet have been matched to Resene Cherry Pie to give the room the wow factor... and it seems to be working with guests continuously remarking on the colour scheme. The purple hues of Resene Cherry Pie ensure the room has a rich, sumptuous feeling that makes visitors want to linger longer.
