Slow progress Stripping the kitchen wall revealed a badly plastered hidden doorway - that alone took six months to plaster, sand and replaster in Clare's limited spare time. The new kitchen blind was made from the hem/cut offs of 12 curtains that she had been gifted, taking two days to match the pieces. Fortuitously the colours in the blind perfectly matched the still life painting that Clare had created a year prior.
The room was repainted in Resene Prairie Sand and, with some clever hunting, Clare secured a near new stove and new display floor dishwasher without breaking the budget.
Claire is now delighted by her show stopper kitchen,
even if it did take nearly four years to complete.
Thanks to Clare Dargaville of Auckland
