Light spot
The Armit family purchased a home and five acres knowing full well that they had purchased themselves a major restoration job to get the 150 year old early colonial villa back to its former glory.

Decking around the house was rotten due to overhanging trees and creepers. The rest of the house was sound but needed cleaning and repainting. All the decking was replaced plus a new rear verandah and extra French doors were added to the lounge/dining area to take advantage of the sun and rural outlook. The exterior was painted in white with trims and roof of Resene Fern and decking of Resene Tana.

The interior also needed overhauling; an ensuite was built off the main bedroom incorporating a walk in wardrobe plus shower, toilet and vanity. The existing bathroom at the far end of the house was refurbished to include a laundry.

The kitchen was well past its use by date and completely revamped. The original Kauri floor was sanded and polished and a new Mastercraft kitchen installed. Resene Pohutukawa and Resene Half Spanish White brilliantly offset the modern new kitchen.

The existing carport was closed in with French doors in keeping with the style of the house and internally lined to give a family/activity room.

Work is still ongoing with a roof and guttering needing attention plus a little more interior decoration to complete.
