How romantic
Resene Spanish White also features on the interior in the original parlour to contrast with the 100 year old Kauri fireplace and the painstakingly restored sash-hung windows.
The lounge, which has another wonderful Kauri fireplace, was painted in rich Resene Monarch. The dining room, which leads off the lounge, is now painted in Resene Sisal to cool a very sunny room. The stairwell and laundry continue this theme making them look fresh and modern. After an ugly chimney was removed they daringly chose Resene Mamba for the kitchen, later joined by a homemade solid Rimu bench and splashbacks. Downstairs two new bathrooms were built in a chasm dug out and filled with years of junk. Now Resene Wasabi adorns the walls of the modern bathroom, working well with the black tiles around the bath and the chrome fixtures and lights. The second bathroom is a quaint Victorian replica with Resene Half Spanish White, brass taps, a replica toilet and a stained gloss light. Dark Aegean Mist carpet features throughout the interior pulling the
colour scheme together beautifully.
Finding the right colours was somewhat of a painstaking task with nearly six months elapsing before they found just the right shade. Once the colours were decided, preparation proved to be hard work. The painting itself was definitely the easy part of the whole job. Thanks to Diane and Emiel Toorenburg of Wellington.
