Wave effect
In the process of renovating their kitchen, the McKenzie's discovered that the flooring in both the kitchen and bathroom were rotten. So, as with many renovations, the costs grew and they expanded their renovation to include both rooms.

The unusually shaped bathroom, located on the south side of the house, only gets the morning sun. At the time of the renovation it was wallpapered in a maroon colour, making the room seem very dark. Selecting the new colours called for some brightening up of the scheme.

Some two years prior to renovating Brenda had been inspired by an advertisement for wallpaper, which had included a wave effect in a bathroom. At around the same time she found some starfish at The Warehouse and put them away planning to incorporate them into a bathroom makeover at some stage in the future.

After some deliberation between Resene Conifer and Resene Atlantis, Resene Atlantis was selected as the border colour. By combining the Resene Jacksons Purple with the Resene Atlantis and keeping the framing to a simple off-white Resene Pearl Lusta, the once dark bathroom is both fun and bright.
