Standing the test of time
Painstakingly the Findsens prepared the garage as a base for the painting by sealing all the air gaps, vacuuming the floor for dust and banishing the children. The kitchen came together in sections. Each was lightly sanded, sealed and then finished in three coats of Resene Enamacryl with Dean using a brush to paint the grooves and Leanne following behind to roll the main surface. Working at a steady pace they did three coats, one coat a day, lightly sanding between each coat. With all the individual pieces coated, the Findsens put it all back together to create the final finished kitchen. The colour was Leanne's creation, made by mixing various paint colours she had found. Once the colour was perfected Leanne took it into Resene so they could create a colour match for her enabling her to get the paint she needed tinted to the right colour. Thanks to Leanne and Dean Findsen of Christchurch.
