Inspired by Pinterest

bedroom detail of bookcase and desk

Karyn is a massive Pinterest fan and created a mood board for her daughter’s new room design incorporating mint green and pale grey. The old room was a babyish pale green and her daughter had out-grown it. She was keen for a more mature room and because Karyn loves to have a project on the go, they went for it.

The room was done on a budget with Poppa kindly helping by doing all the painting for free using Resene Iron on the walls and Resene White on the doors and ceiling. Karyn gave the old wooden desk a makeover using Resene paint and added little gold handles.

There are lots of other projects in this room that were created themselves. These include making the wooden garland and tassel, painting the toy boxes, mirror and picture frame on the wall, and sewing the roman blind. Karyn especially loves the large fawn print, which was trimmed to fit inside the frame.
