Pink book shelves

Don’t be afraid to shake up the idea of traditional book shelves by using a bright and bold colour scheme.

Fun with furniture with Mark Rayner - Project 35

Difficulty level: Challlenging

You will need: an old wooden bookcase, 20mm x 25mm timber or similar for shelf supports, 40mm x 10mm wooden moulding, alcove for shelves, clean cloth, drill, hammer, sandpaper, saw, screwdriver, screws, spirit level, tape measure, MDF or wooden shelving approximately 20mm x 300mm, paintbrush, panel pins and PVA glue. Resene Quick Dry and Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Illusion.

To get the look: Mark painted the architrave around the book shelves with Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Deep Blush.

Other ideas: For a crisp and clean look paint the bookcase with Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Gin Fizz.
