From the Resene/Your Home and Garden Colour Home Awards Competition - Nov 2012 finalist

Ian, Winifred and daughter Amiria Kiddle’s vibrant Havelock North home showcases a range of Pasifika-inspired shades from the Resene Style Pasifika collection.

They drew inspiration for their decor from the work of the home’s original architect, the late John Scott, whose designs were bold, original and distinctly New Zealand.

“We chose Resene Red Frangipani and Resene Orange Wood for the kitchen and dining room,” says Amiria. “These are areas for moving, eating and chatting, so they needed strong, lively colours.

“Mum’s mantra has always been that it doesn’t matter if colours are supposed to ‘go’ together if the tones are the same. So we’ve followed that advice here, and love the result.
