Resene Metallics and special effects
If a finish a little out of the ordinary is called for, Resene Metallics and special effects are the ideal solution to add an extra dimension to a wide range of areas from exterior concrete and steelwork through to interior feature walls, doors, joinery and furniture.

Resene has three metallic finishes:

Resene Imperite I.F. 503 is a spray applied high performance coating. It is more durable than Resene Enamacryl Metallic in exterior situations and is preferred especially over new steelwork.

Resene Enamacryl Metallic is a waterborne alternative to Resene Imperite I.F. 503 recommended for use over prepared concrete and plaster. Resene Enamacryl Metallic is the preferred product for interior work because of its Environmental Choice approval and low VOCs.

Resene ArmourCat is a range of acid-catalysed pigmented, metallic and clear finishes designed for everything from desks, shelves and shop fittings to kitchen units, timber fixtures and furniture.

Slight variations in colour may occur between Resene Enamacryl Metallic and Resene Imperite I.F. 503 due to their inherently different film forming properties.

The metallics range is best applied by spray for a monolithic finish, but may be brushed using a crows foot technique or rolled with good trade practice. See the Resene Metallics and special effects chart for the current colour collection.

Specifying tips:
In all cases, a standard panel should first be prepared by the applicator and approved by clients/specifiers. This standard should be used to ensure the texture achieved is to the agreed panel.

Resene Limelock (see Data Sheet D809) is a preparatory coating designed to cure and seal cementitious surfaces by retaining moisture necessary to achieve cure and trapping free lime, minimising downtime between the completion of plastering and commencement of painting.
