Resene AquaShield - mineral effect
Resene AquaShield is a high mineral content, super hydrophobic, water repellent coating with excellent coverage. It combines the water repellent properties of silicones with a special surface micro-structure, which considerably reduces the contact area for water and dirt. The result - dirt particles adhere lightly and are more easily carried away by rain.

Although it has excellent weather resistance, as with most waterborne finishes it allows the building to 'breathe' so that water vapours from inside are able to pass through the paint film to the exterior.

Resene AquaShield is an attractive flat mineral effect finish, a classic aged look, particularly suited to heritage, art deco, Sante Fe and Mediterranean style homes and buildings.

When used commercially it is best applied to heritage buildings that suit the soft, slightly textured finish. Use Resene Lumbersider (see Data Sheet D34) or Resene Sonyx 101(see Data Sheet D30) for foundations or other high wear areas.

Resene AquaShield is suitable for brush, roller or spray application. Available in a wide range of Resene Total Colour System colours, most custom colours up to mid tone hues can be made on request - minimum batch sizes may apply.

Specifying tips:
In all cases, a standard panel should first be prepared by the applicator and approved by clients/specifiers. This standard should be used to ensure the texture achieved is to the agreed panel.

Resene Limelock (see Data Sheet D809) is a preparatory coating designed to cure and seal cementitious surfaces by retaining moisture necessary to achieve cure and trapping free lime, minimising downtime between the completion of plastering and commencement of painting.
