Since a very young age Korana has drawn upon pop culture's iconic imagery to reflect and often construct contextual narratives within her work. She’s often reminded of a scene from a movie or a story told to her when viewing completed paintings, inspired much by the entertainment violence found in many parts of the media.

These are expressed through an unusual mix of bright and dark colours exposing the duality of the scene presented while preserving the playful entertainment held within the bold structural layout. This is essential to Korana when creating work whether it be on canvas, paper or even a large scale mural. She works with Resene paints as they provide a broad spectrum of colours to use as well as a reliable paint that applies well for lasting results. Her favourite Resene colours are Resene Gravel, Resene Pizazz and Resene Golden Dream.
