Tara Spicer

Tara Spicer combines life as a working artist with life as an art teacher, allowing her to nurture creativity in both herself and others.

Tara's first introduction to Resene was for a series of murals for Jones Parade Kindy in the SUnshine Coast, which she worked on with fellow artist Leight Hutfield. Coming from a more traditional, Fine Art background using very high quality fine art paints, both were really surprised at the beauty, fluidity and ease that the Resene paints offered. They spent around 10 months planning and creating their range of murals for the kindy and loved the paint so much that they are now are releasing a range of artwork for outdoors that can be displayed along fence lines, in your courtyard, by the pool or indoors as well. Most of Tara's work is figurative and feminine. Her inspirations are random and quirky and based on her favorite things in life and dreams that she has had, like tea pots, tree spirits, bird cages, music, the moon... and much much more. Tara likes to create works that remind people that they hold a great deal of magic within themselves!

Using a unique combination of Resene paints with layers of Liquid Glass, Tara creates paintings in delicate layers of paint, then resin, then another layer of paint, which casts shadows on the original painting bellow... It is a really beautiful way to paint that offers such decadence and interest to the painting and is oh so beautiful to create!

Tara's current favourite colors are Resene Caffeine, Resene Metallic Gold, Resene Yeehaa, Resene Ravishing, Resene Cross Country and Resene Lumberjack. As well as her artworks she enjoys using a range of Resene products and colours on her own home too.
