Light relief - A modern colour scheme
The right colour selection maximises the best features of a home, while the wrong colour scheme selection turns visitors off before they even reach the front door.

A residence in Maranui Street, Mt Maunganui has recently had a makeover to reduce its street impact - from an old-fashioned mid tone clashing colour scheme to a modern, more minimalist approach - immediately fitting the home back into the natural environment and giving the senses some much needed light relief from colour overkill.

It can be tempting to throw strong colours and striking colours at all elements of a scheme, but this residence attests that sometimes they are best used sparingly against a more neutral background to make them truly stand out. With Hardiplank walls now finished in Resene Sonyx 101 tinted to popular Resene Napa, the square rib iron roof and fence redecorated in Resene Hi-Glo tinted to Resene Rock and the detailwork topped off in Resene Woodbark the new scheme sits comfortably on the home.
