Shrinking violets beware... this home's colour scheme will scare the neutrals out of you.

Nestled in the heart of the Bay of Plenty beach resort of Bowentown, the MacLeods went with the concept of bold is beautiful, threw caution to the wind and picked three of the brightest The Range hues for their exterior colour scheme. The new sponge plaster finish textured home is now resplendent in walls of Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Supernova (bright yellow) complemented by Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Paua (deep blue purple) columns and a Resene Hot Chile (deep red) garage door and accessories.

Perhaps not what one would expect in the average suburban home, but luckily this home is designed to be anything but average. With the client brief of having fun outside the norm easily achieved in the striking three tone effect, the interior is now enjoying its own bold scheme including Resene Vesuvius (orange), Resene Lusty (deep red), and Resene Jacksons Purple (blue purple).

Bright and bold inside and out, this funky home is well suited to the sunshine, surf and relaxation associated with life at a beach resort... a case where careful blending of environment and owner personality has created a scheme that melds comfortably with both.
