Mark Rayner creates a simple yet effective wall planter.
You will need:
Step one
Using a skilsaw or handsaw, cut a panel of ply measuring 550mm x 850mm.
Step two
Using a paint roller, apply one coat of Resene Teal Blue to the outside of the container. Allow to dry, then apply two coats of Resene Lucifer.
Step three
Using the hammer and large nail, mark the screw holes for the two washingline hooks (300mm from top edge and, centrally, 100mm apart).
Step four
Apply two coats of Resene Nero to the front and sides. Allow to dry, then turn over and paint the reverse.
Step five
Attach the ply panel to the fence with 40mm galvanised nails. Touch up the nail heads and any marks with a coat of Resene Nero.
Step six
Screw the washing-line hooks into position.
Step seven
Using the hammer and large nail, punch a series of drainage holes in the bottom of the stainless steel bucket.
Step eight
Using good-quality potting mix, plant the sedum into the stainless steel bucket. Water well and allow to drain, then hang the bucket from the hooks on the ply panel.
