Mark Rayner makes a living coffee table.
You will need:
Step one
Seal the inside of the container with a terracotta sealer and coat the outside with Resene Quick Dry Acrylic Primer Undercoat. Allow to dry.
Step two
Using a paint roller, apply one coat of Resene Teal Blue to the outside of the container. Allow to dry, then apply two coats of Resene Lucifer.
Step three
Using a brush, apply three coats of Resene Concrete Clear, allowing two hours between each coat to dry.
Step four
Using the PVA glue, apply an evenly spaced line of mosaic tiles around the rim of the container. Allow to dry.
Step five
Using a square of weedmat cut to the same size as the container, cut nine equally spaced circles.
Step six
Fill the container with cactus/succulent potting mix to 150mm below rim. Lightly firm, and place weedmat over. Using a small plant pot, make nine planting holes in the potting mix.
Step seven
Plant the cacti through the nine holes in the weedmat. Water lightly.
Step eight
Finish off with a layer of white pebble mulch and place the square of safety glass over the top of the container.
