Making a hues difference

Mark Rayner uses bubble wrap to create a simple decorative effect on this purple trio.

You will need:

To get the look: Mark planted the pot with purple-leafed Euphorbia dulcis 'Chameleon', painting the wall with Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Giggle.

Step 1 Step one
Seal the inside and base of the terracotta pot with one coat of Resene Aquapel waterborne sealer and allow to dry.
Step 2 Step two
Prime the terracotta spheres and the outside of the terracotta pot with one coat of Resene Quick Dry primer - allow to dry.
Step 3 Step three
Paint the outside of the pot with two coats of Resene Voodoo, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 4 Step four
Paint the larger terracotta sphere with two coats of Resene Loulou, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 5 Step five
Paint the smaller terracotta sphere with two coats of Resene Fandango, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 6 Step six
With scrunched-up bubble wrap, dab Resene Blackberry on to the pot to create a textured effect. Allow dry for two hours.
Step 7 Step seven
Repeat step six using Resene Black Rose on the larger sphere and Resene Hot Wired on the smaller sphere.
Step 8 Step eight
Apply one coat of Resene Concrete Clear to the outside of the pot and allow to dry.
