It’s easy to look at a colour and quickly relate it to something that’s familiar without thinking. However, Resene Dell, which is a darker shade of green, rather than seeing nature related objects, looking at it made me think of the renaissance period. It’s a very artistic colour that can set a mood. The definition of Dell in simple terms is basically a small valley. Combining both Resene Dell and the thought of a valley really enforced my idea of the renaissance period, picturing a valley with a village from that era and also some of the amazing landscape paintings that came from that time. 

The way I interpreted Anaheras’ story, was that because her name translates to “Angel” she in fact is one herself. She’s not from our time. Instead she was carved from marble by Michaelangelo and therefore is immortal. A piece of art herself, has lived through revolutionary art periods and has both witnessed and lived through the change in fashion from the renaissance onwards. Therefore you can see her in statues and paintings throughout history. ” The fashion capitals of the world have engraved her names on their hands.”

I took this very literally, as Anahera has seen it all she has contributed to the birth of trends and whispered in the ears of the most influential designers of fashion history. “Dresses that shimmer and swish.” Resene Dell silk fabric has the most beautiful sheen, and I thought the only way to really utilise that is making an elegant dress that flows effortlessly with movement that reflects the light, capturing the eye of anyone who passes by. The dress titled ’Patron’ (which in the renaissance era meant a person of wealth who supported an artist) is a full length dress with a split down the leg and flared out tulip sleeves to showcase the beauty of whomever wears it and to create animation as they walk. There is also an opening through the centre of the bodice to replicate the structure of a valley. Finally at the very top it has an illusion of a disconnected neck piece to draw attention to the face.
