A la mode chic

“The catwalk of fashion beckons and soon Anahera finds that she is immersed in a world of shape and colour, clothes that demand attention and acknowledgement, clothes that flow with creativity and the power to seduce the viewer”. With those words I knew what I wanted to do.

Resene Palm Green is an old college green, traditional and mossy. I knew I didn’t want to do something traditional but something more original; something that shows Resene Palm Green can be more than just traditional.

I wanted to make a dress that fascinates people with shape and structure, something that demands attention with a loose sleeve which then gathers onto a fitted laced up cuffs. A very open bodice and bandeau front for modesty. But then from the waist down a very structured with a lace up front.

I think of Anahera being a young girl in her 20s just wanting to stand out and reflect what is around her. I imagine that it is autumn and there are lots of leaves all around falling to the ground.

My inspiration for the name à la mode chic which means adopting or setting current fashions according to the fashion. “Anahera has always wanted, free from the limitations of expectations”.
