Soft bite

Resene Galliano has been described as mustard and an intense honey sweet yellow colour. The meaning of yellow is bright and gleaming or to cry out.

When I think of yellow I think of flowers, joy, warmth and femininity, also the song by Coldplay which further inspires stars and shining and speaks of love for a certain female.

Yellow has also been known to provoke feelings of anger, hostility and warmth.

I was especially drawn to the daffodil when I was looking at my mood board and inspirations which led to floral patterns, the Fibonnaci code and the female form, the strength and beauty all women hold.

The colour definitely led me to think of Uma Thurman’s famous costume in the film Kill Bill which further inspired the idea of femme fatale and strong female characters.

The outfit I have designed is fluid and easy to move in thanks to the sleeves and pants but also very fitted, sexy and strong, shown mostly in the bodice and shoulders. What I refer to as the “straps” will be structured and fused to hold a heightened shoulder pad like look. The ties around the bodice, one tied at the front and two tied at the back act like a modern corset to keep posture straight and to make the wearer feel less like they are going to relax and more like they are going to do some work… that they love of course.

The woman who wears this is someone who kicks ass for a good cause.
